My lovely daughter is back to college. 🙁
My wonderful husband is half a world away in Saudi Arabia. 🙁
My clever son is asleep in the basement. 🙁
The dog is outside romping in the rain. 🙁
Which leaves me all alone.
Which isn’t really a terrible thing.
Except I’m so excited I could spit.
First, I’m not in pain. Really. Two visits to the physical therapist’s and the difference is like night and day. My back feels wonderful and I feel like the entire weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders.
Second, this…
There is no one to share this with. So dear readers, you get to see it first. All it needs is a lining, and I am thrilled beyond belief. I love the color, the line, and OK, so I’m wearing hand knit socks, but hey, any port in a storm…
Stay tuned…
Nice! 🙂
Especially good with the socks! It’s lovely, Daryl! Much more fun than scarves.
You look great in you new dress! I love it!
Lovely Daryl!
The socks make it!
I love it and the sock do complete the outfit!!
Beautiful!!!! …. both you and the dress (and the socks)!
Wow, the dress looks great! Another stupendous accomplishment, Daryl!! The socks feel cozy all the way to Wisconsin. I’m about to finish my first pair of hand knitted socks. I’m especially thrilled about that because it is my third try to learn to knit socks and as they say the third time’s the charm. I absolutely love the Magic Loop top down technique!
I’m a new weaver who is liking the idea of weaving fabric. This is something to aspire to! Really nice!
yousa, love the band at the bottom! It’s also ‘annoying’ that first we see warp on the loom and then, VOILA, it’s on your bod! 🙂 Just jealous, i really need to get organized !
Socks great also.
Susan
You are awesome and the the socks are terrific. The “scarf” dress is fabulous. You have the best ideas…… Amazing….I have 4 scarfs, lets turn it into a dress…. Viola Awesome, spectacular, terrific, inspiring, etc, etc, etc! Where are you going to enter it in? you are the BEST!!!!! Thanks for sharing with us, sorry we are not in your living room to give a round of applause and drink the bubbly. Maybe next time?
Woot woot!!!! I love it and am so glad you shared with us.
I still am in love with you…..
The dress is great! Your creativity and skills are awesome. Nothing better than handknit socks. Soooo comfy
you are so lucky that you have the dress form that is set to your body so you can make clothing that fits. And you are so lucky that you still have a body that can wear clothing that fits! Most of the women “our age” are hiding under layers…Not you Girlfriend!
Love it.

So glad your back doesn’t hurt anymore. Going from 4 scarves to a fabulous dress — that’s real re-purposing!!!! Having to take your own photo was tricky, but you solved it! Have fun with it — it looks great on you!
What good news! Fantastic dress!
Kaity and I think this is the coolest dress ever! We’re glad you’re not hurting too!
Mary Anna – Love your dress and the idea of making it with scarves. Am thinking this might be an interesting project for our guild garment group. I always enjoy your blog and was pleased to see that the ANWG conference application was checked off on your “To Do” list. I too love January..not only my birth month but just a chance to slow down, take stock, and think of the possibilities in the year ahead. Thanks for sharing your life, thoughts, and inspiration.
Love it!
I treasure my time alone too, but it does seem that the best things that I really want to share always manage to sneak up on me when I have no one around to share them with. This dress is really worth sharing – it’s beautiful!
OH WOW! Can’t wait to see in person and on you!
