Is it possible to have too much fun?

In spite of the dreary cold rainy weather, I’m having fun.  So much fun it should be illegal.  I feel like I’m doing something illicit, making this new wardrobe and having a blast.  I’ll soon be traveling again, but I’ve had such a good time sewing I don’t want it to stop.

Meanwhile, I owe my dear readers some follow-up.  First let me say how much I enjoy when you comment.  I read every one, and almost always follow up when there is a question.  Almost always.  Like I said, I’m having way too much fun…

A couple of blog posts ago, a number of you asked for lining shots of the plaid coat I just finished.  I didn’t show the lining because it was rather boring for my standards.  Just a plain red silk sari.  So, for those who asked.  Here is the coat with the buttons all facing the same direction, and the lining.

And a reader asked where to subscribe to Burda Style.  I thought I had included the link, but here it is again. To subscribe to Burda Style in English click here.  For other languages, click here and scroll down.

I wove a scarf this morning.  Because I need to get these woven and finished by Saturday.

Then I decided to sew a little.

Next thing I knew I had this…  (truth be told it was actually a little too form fitting.  I let it out about an inch and I LOVE the way it fits, most comfortable thing I’ve ever worn.  I’m going to look for more rayon jersey in my travels, after I see how this holds up to repeated washings…

Love the dress. If you wash it gentle cycle and never expose it to the dryer (trust me and a ruinned pair of slacks) it should stay the most comfortable thng you ever wore!

Love the dress! Very sexy. My experience with rayon jersey (with a touch of lycra) is that even with gentle washing and hang drying, it loses some of it’s finish. I made a couple of tops and loved them but after just a few washings, I can’t wear them for “good”.

Love the dress and the coat! I’m knitting the Einstein Coat and would love to line it. But alas, I can’t seen to find any clear instructions for lining something without pattern pieces. Have you any suggestions? Glad you’re having Too Much Fun!!! Our family always wishes that on one another when fun times are happening!

Love the dress and the coat AND the scarf! How do you stay so productive? I get lured in by this electronic device, my dogs, cleaning, gardening. They pull me away from my own sewing and weaving. Hope your fun lasts and lasts! Thank you for sharing. You are an inspiration. A rock star! 😉

Shazam! Love the “boring” red lining! And the dress is stunning, as well as the scarf!

Wonderful coat–love the red lining. How do you control sari silk? Now, that print dress is something else. Wow and I see there are suggestions for caring for it. Hope it works. Love, love your blog and one of these days I will catch up with you and take a workshop. Meanwhile I learn a lot. Have fun in your travels.

I was wondering how Burda Style compares in proportions to US commercial patterns. Are they cut more for curvy or straight body types, or about the same? Thanks from a pear shape.
