The new Handwoven Magazine for March/April 2011 is out, and I have a four page feature, “Using color forecast palettes for warp stripes“. In addition, I wrote the end notes column for this issue. That column can be accessed online, for those of you who aren’t weavers or don’t subscribe to Handwoven Magazine. (If you are a weaver and don’t subscribe, you might want to check out a couple of the current issues. There is a lot of information packed into the newly formatted magazine, information for all levels. It is colorful and inspirational, and I always learn something when I leaf through each issue). Anyway, here is the link for downloading the Endnotes column… You’ll have to click “Download” in a couple of different areas.

Do you have a sewing machine in your closet? Do you
spend a fortune on alterations? Do you have clothing
that is outdated, but too good to give away? Are you
looking for an inexpensive hobby that will reduce
stress and benefit your wardrobe? Dust off that
sewing machine and come learn or re-learn what to do
with it! The class is tailored to individual needs and all levels.
Ongoing, this class will help with everything
from simple alterations, garment make-overs, sewing garments from
scratch, all the way to tailoring for the more experienced sewist. This is
also a terrific class for those who have trouble finding clothing that fits.
Machines are provided for those who don’t have a machine available.
ALL LEVELS ARE WELCOME
Thanks for taking the time to create the pdf. Very helpful to be able to read all the posts together.
It was unbelievably generous of you to go through, find these, and make them available for download (which I have done)! I’ve found a few of them before, but had missed all the spool-warping escapes and the pick-up stick technique (I still haven’t even tried to do any of this) and if nothing else it is fascinating reading. MANY thanks!
You are a great teacher as always, Daryl. Thanks for sharing. (I was just about to ask, also.)
Thank you so much for your blog and for the download. I have two Structo’s and a friend sent me your blog with a picture of you working on a Structo. Wow! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Daryl for alweting us. I received the Handwoven magazine yesterday and quickly turned to your article.
I am looking forward to your workshops (2)at ANWG in Salem Oregon the end of May. You have been an inspiration to me and I look forward to making my own clothes again.

Your class description sounds awesome, wish I could take it!
To the most beautiful woman I have ever met… I still have not met that man that I have been looking for but at least I am still looking, spinning, weaving, learning and doing new and exciting things. The latest thing has been doing some dying of a 3 yard warp that I am “Praying” will turn out like my minds eye sees it. I am in hope of entering it in Midwest and attending it! I will even sell the last of my gold if I have to so I can go! And take a class from the woman… Read more »
Oh crazy Mary! You made me smile tonight! The feeling is mutual! And your stories are the best!
Yesterday I purchased one of your scarves from the Santa Fe weaving Gallery and have enjoyed reading your blogs about how you design and create your scarves and all the other neat things that you do. It is a unique learning experience. I enjoyed making my jacket with you in Durango a few years ago at IWC
Thanks so much Evelyn, I’m really thrilled that a handweaver has one of my scarves!
