The quilter's grid is a two yard rotary cutting board that covers my cutting table. I cover that with a clear plastic shower curtain. And the warps I'm painting are sitting on Plastic Wrap so I can encase the warps once they are painted, for curing. The gridded surface can help with spacing, though I just winged it.

Daryl, I have a plastic quilter's grid just like yours and never had thought about using it for painting warps. Seems like a brilliant idea to me! Do you cover it with plastic or are you just neat with the plastic on which the warps are placed? I.e., is that plastic enough to protect the surface?

Fantastic pallette! Now I want to go just to look at stone! I have a very amusing mental image of a bewildered staff watching weavers (Color-aids in hand) wandering about oooing and ahhhing the stonework.
